Katia Norford is a proud Dominican and dedicated community leader in Worcester, having served for over 21 years. She is happily married to Carlos R. Norford, and they are the proud parents of two beautiful, strong daughters, Gisela and Shadelis Norford, as well as their dog, Chucho. Together with her husband, she has owned Carlito’s BarberShop for over 18 years, and they take pride in providing their customers with a unique and family-oriented experience.

Katia holds a background in cosmetology and an Associate in Science degree in accounting. She serves as a board member of the Main South Community Development Corporation (MSCDC) and the Main South Neighborhood Beacons Brightly (MSNBB). Additionally, she is a member of the site council for Claremont and Woodland Academy Public Schools, as well as the property manager for Canland Enterprises Inc. Katia has also been a club director for over six years at her local SDA Central Church and serves as the president of the Main South Business Association (MSBA). In 2022, Katia was honored to receive the WBJ 40 Under 40 Award, which recognizes some of the most talented and inspiring individuals for their commitment to excellence, their accomplishments in their fields, and their dedication to making a difference in their communities.

Furthermore, Katia had the privilege of being one of the candidates for Worcester City Council District 4 in the 2023 elections.
